The economy would completly crumble without them. The West get on with the job of managing, they don't let religion, superstition and hate/war get in the way of that.

Everyone wants to come to the West for a reason - because their skills have made it the great democratic place it is providing the freedoms, security and lifestyles people want. It isn't perfect but it's much closer than most other parts of the world.
