Political correctness mainly exists, not to "police" how others may define terms but to limit the implied bigotry, intolerance and ignorance in using words that at best offend and at worst, discriminate. We may have free speech but if we don't excercise respect for others while using it; then like children we must be told what is innapropriate language to use. I am old enough to remember a time when it was allowed to use words of hate and intolerance and I do not want to return to those times.
