My moms cat has disappeared for a few days at a time on occasion and she just reappears again. Maybe the cat has someone else feeding him/her and is splitting their time between you and someone else? My cat is a mainly indoor cat so he's always around

Some cats are more independent than others, and known to wander off every once in a while. It could be a case of someone else feeding him and/or taking care of him, in which case I'd suggest posters on streetlamps.

One of my sister's cats (she has two) regularly ****s off on its own for up to a week at a time, then just turns up again like nothing happened . She lives in the middle of nowhere so who knows where it goes . Cats are weird like that.

My wife's cat when she was a kid got locked in somewhere for WEEKS and turned up back home eventually... half starved and covered in dust. They never found out where she had been.

I suspect this is the most likely scenario....hes a bit nervous of people. he doesnt cry much, ive put posters up on 7 lamposts spoken to 4 or 5 neighbours, but will have to go to every single house

I know this advice is 'shutting the stable door' sort, but when your cat does come back and I hope that's soon, you can get a tracking device that goes on a collar round its neck. My neighbour has one on his cat, because the cat stays away for days at a time and he was curious to see where it went.

Make a flyer with a picture and your phone number. Ask locals to please check sheds and out buildings to make sure it hasn't been accidentally shut in. Phone local cat protection and dog/cat warden. Call local vets to see if a cat has been brought in injured. Check any overgrown areas of land nearby or overgrown gardens. There was an empty house near me with a very overgrown garden where my boy cat used to like to hang out if he felt poorly. A neighbour spotted him there and after that it was the go to place if he was ever missing overnight. Train them to come when you rattle or shake cat treats or dry food. Often they just turn up again within the week. Always get your cat microchipped.

Battersea has a place to list lost or found pets on their web site I'm sure other local places might have something like it too. If so list your cat as lost.
