As I am not gay myself, I can't really say much about it.

The whole idea that he is not "gay enough" for some is ridiculous. Maybe he isn't defined by his sexuality and is secure enough in himself to not think that his bedroom proclivities define him.
Maybe he wants to show the world that all gay men aren't just crazy, horny, bitchy effeminate caricatures that are so often portrayed on television.
I am not someone who ever really mentions my sexual activity or inclinations...its not for being ashamed or not knowing myself, but for the fact that it really is the least interesting thing about me....

This! There's so much more to Raph than his sexuality. Housemates are underestimating him, but that's a good thing for us fans.
