Now I'm not one who is overly PC myself, some people are a bit oversensitive about things nowadays, but sometimes a bit of sensitivity and social progress is for the better. Also, just because certain things weren't seen as offensive in the past by certain people doesn't mean they actually weren't. I'm sure they were still offensive to the people involved but they just weren't talked about.

When I was waitressing, I asked someone if they wanted black or white coffee during a function. I got told not to say black by a clergyman diner because it was racist. It was descriptive of the coffee for goodness sake.
