It was a strop...but it's an understandable one. You could see on his face he didn't like the gang mentality and it was Hannah who led it.
That's exactly why he did what he did...
If the other four of the original clique did that under the noses of Chanelle etc...don't tell me Chanelle wouldn't have had some sly digs.
However...it's ok for the Outsiders to do it.
