Something that has always intrigued me watching BB, when the lights go out in the bedroom (and we the viewers see night vision) are the rooms genuinely pitch black or are there mini lights on the ceiling?

and could the housemates control the lighting?! (that's something from this recent celeb series that caused debate.)

That's what I wonder. I think I may have spotted a switch but I might not sure
