Completely different situations. Both are entitled to their religion and their opinions regarding it but neither are beyond criticism when they try to use their religion to justify using political power to push an agenda based on discrimination.
Mogg is anti-women's rights and has homophobic views that he tries to justify his political agendas by using his religion. Religion has no place in politics.
The difference between a politician having an agenda based on religion with the power and means to see it through is completely different to an average person of any religion having religious beliefs. It really should be completely obvious and shouldn't have to be explained.
