What a nightmare.First a protester gets to the stage and gives her a pretend P45 and then her voice failed her.She apparently did 26 TV interviews yesterday and it knackered her throat.
I thought she did well to finish it.She’ll be glad that’s over. |

Even when powers that be are telling her to stop talking she as usual was not willing to listen
I did feel a bit for her however, this is though a speech she should have made sure she was absolutely on top form for. |

The Labour Conference proved a popular thread here, so it's only fair the Strong and Stable leadership gets their thread too.
Oh. What a mess it was..
Remember everyone...Strong and Stable leadership

Borris and his 'flat-rate tax' speech again! He even praised Romania, a country where inequality makes Britain look like Disney Land. This is a man who's prepared to sacrifice democracy to line his own pockets... disgusting traitor of a man.

Maybe she should have had yesterday "off" so she could save her voice (and her performance) for today, but heyho, maybe it's lesson learned for next time, if she's still Tory leader then

Never seen a PMs conference speech like it with so much going wrong.
After all the hype and planned presentation even nature goes against her. Last edited by joeysteele; 04-10-2017 at 12:24 PM. |

Strong and stable my arse. She is weak...I kind of feel sorry for her as after the election results she will have been so embarrassed and likely wants to step down and I think she has been told she HAS to stay to oversee the brexit disaster so that she can be blamed for it when it all goes wrong...then someone else can glide in on a white carriage to 'save the day'.
Surely even Tory voters see her as a bit of a joke now? I don't actually know many people who admit to voting Tory but the few I do know think may is terrible as PM

Considering everything that could go wrong did go wrong, she gave a very good speech.
Now she must rest that voice ready for the next stint. |

I do feel a bit bad for her.
Like I said in the other thread, maybe she should have had yesterday off so she could have saved her voice, made sure she was on tiptop form today, and she could practice what she wanted to say from her home. I notice none of the featured tweets are attacking the actual content of what May said ... I wouldn't expect better from Owen Jones though I'll watch it back/read a transcript later, get an idea of how good what she actually said was |

A tad concerning that someone (with a history for this sort of thing too) can come so close to our highest elected official tbh, but that's the most amusing stunt Simon Brodkin has done in a while so

In policy terms, there were two significant announcements: on housebuilding and on an energy price cap. Both could have come straight out of an Ed Miliband speech, and in this respect the speech confirms that it is Labour that is setting the agenda.
https://www.theguardian.com/politics...b06733cbfa0c76 That aside, May just confirmed that 6 million people will be left without benefit payments for 6 weeks (over Xmas) and we are leaving the EU with no deal people, so start buying your gold krugers now before they've all been snapped up. Its like watching a piss up in a brewery.

I thought there was already a thread on this?
I think it's worrying that the guy got close enough to her to hand over a P45, what if he'd had some sort of weapon? Even a pencil could be a weapon if jabbed in the eye. The security there needs a serious look at.

But unless the security used to watch BBC Three about five years ago, they wouldn't know that.
