No I dont, but I know the difference between right and wrong and to take the piss out of a severely disabled child is NOT and never should be called comedy ,if you have to sink to these levels you shouldn't be walking the earth ,saying someone is after the pity vote and saying a disabled childs Mam had to marry a cage fighter to stop the child raping his Mam is totally different

If you know the difference between right and wrong, why do continually mock people for the way they look, make nasty comments about bereaved people you've never met and disparaging ones about the parental qualities of people on television shows, or express borderline or outright racist, homophobic and transphobic views? That doesn't make sense.

Again, I'll explain in simple terms - the humour of dark comedy comes not in the 'HAHA he insulted that disabled kid', it's in the shock factor of 'I can't believe he just said that'. Hence why most laughs at one of his (or other comedians of his ilk) gigs are preceded by 'oooohs'. The difference between you and I Chuff is that in the ~real world~ I don't make or agree with genuinely disparaging and nasty comments that have malicious intentions towards real people. Jokes are just that - jokes. They are not serious comments, the people making them or laughing at them aren't being serious, they are flippant and nothing else. Faux outrage over a comedian making jokes but having no issue with racially insensitive remarks makes no sense. Your priorities and morals are completely misplaced.

Now I have no issue with this, a joke is a joke, but you can't be outraged over one topic and not the other. What is it, homophobia, racism and transphobia are fine but leave the poor disabled alone? Frankie Boyle targeted a specific child that's the difference for me, I have seen no suspicious trend of hating women of colour, and why only women hating? is that a particular ism?

yet you are happy for Frankie to do this on TV where it will highly likely the family of the child in question will see it, but get outraged by Chuff making (a lot of the time) tongue in cheek comments on a BB forum that are highly unlikely to be seen by any of the people involved, bizarre.

I mean the umpteen threads we've had recently about such and such costumes being racially insensitive or offensive. I didn't involve myself in them but I actually happen to agree that costumes are pretty much fair game in much the same way that comedy is, that's not to say that some of them aren't littered with casual racism because they are, but a joke is a joke so I can let it slide. What makes no sense is thinking that dressing up is 'a bit or fun' and that casual racism is fine, but a comedian telling jokes about the poor vulnerable disabled? Vile! Give me a break, they're one and the same. Either you oppose discrimination and isms of all forms or you think there are no boundaries in comedy, pick a side and stick to it - anything else is pure hypocrisy.

Allowing racism/homophobia/transphobia to slide and brushing it off as 'PC gone mad' but making out the disabled must be protected at all costs is all kinds of patronising. There are many disabled people, Stephen Hawking included, who have no problem being used as the butt of dark humoured jokes.

How many times do I need to repeat this? Frankie Boyle is a comedian. He tells jokes. Jokes are not serious comments. Jokes are not intentionally malicious. The humour is in the shock factor of the joke, not the target itself. Chuff makes serious and intentionally malicious comments about contestants on reality shows. Chuff is not joking the large majority of the time. There's a difference, Cherie, I shouldn't have to keep explaining it.

Calling women wh*res and mocking the bereaved, and thinking a bit of casual racism in a costume is all fine and dandy cause 'it's a laugh' and 'it's PC gone mad' but then having a problem with a comedian making jokes about the disabled is both riddled with hypocrisy and also pretty patronising too.

We've done this before Kazanne. I tend not to read the X Factor discussion threads, just post a few thoughts of my own and vacate. As I've said previously, if you have examples of these comments, please post them and I'll happily criticise them - I am not inconsistent unlike a large number of people on this forum. Also, who are these so-called 'buds'? I didn't even know I had any, I'm hardly that ingrained a member on here anymore
