We need some sort of word to describe a person who homes in their hate on a specific religion. Hitler and Nazi Germany claimed they were anti-semite and yet semitic religions are Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Hating Islam is no different than hating Jews.
I think there is a world of difference between having no time for the ideologies of a given religion and what the Nazis did to the Jews. Any such comparison in itself is ludicrous and unworthy of being given the time of day.
