Forgive me I was letting Ronnie, Roxy and Peggy's deaths these past year cloud my judgement

I think there are characters you can’t or shouldn’t kill off . Ever since they killed Lucie off I feel the rule book has been torn up. I’ve watched the show for donkeys years but don’t remember ever getting so confused by the choices of producers as I have in recent years. R.

Peggy was kind of spent tbf but Ronnie, Roxy and Abi could have all made great returns in a few years

They don't seem to think of the future for some reason and then a few years later we get a sh*t period and nobody left because all the big characters died young.

I'd rather see Abi return as a middle aged mum with a couple of grown up kids in tow than Lauren and Louie tbh.

is it common the producers who move on to another soap ruin things? Kate Oakes was amazing with Emmerdale and now she's moved to Coronation Street and made that show an embarrassment lmao.

Still gutted they killed Lucy off. The only character who I thought could have been Janine 2.0. She played the bitch so well.

From what I've seen they tend to start repeating themselves, or in an effort to not repeat themselves they get silly.

BK first three years at HO were literally three of the show's best ever years.

Goodness knows what happened when he came back.

I didn't think much of either actress if I'm honest but the fact they then went on to kill so many others, they literally decimate the cast.

Abi is dead and as she should be. If they had really hit us with a double death fakeout then that would have been beyond weak. One of them has to at least bite it.

The trend of soaps killing off random big characters for shock value, ratings and press attention came with Tina McIntyre when Michelle Keegan left I feel. Tina wasn't a character that suited being murdered. Then came Lucy Beale, granted we got a plot from that. Then Katie Sugden in Emmerdale. Then Val Pollard again in Emmerdale. Then Kylie Platt in Coronation Street. Then Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell in EastEnders. Now Abi Branning. It's basically popular female characters.

Lucy died first you silly slut.

Major characters have been killed off for years, it's just the last 5 or so years EE particularly have made it a regular occurrence.

Yes, they've killed them in other soaps but it hasn't got out of control in the others.

tbf Sienna's storylines were great and i'm sure they have been more but it's been like a horror movie since he took over.

You could argue it started even earlier with Heather Trott in EastEnders.

I think max dying would have been more satisfying. I really don’t see a future for him . Too much has happened. R.

Tina's was changed last minute. She was originally leaving alive and then in the New Year they decided to kill her off (probably why it was written so badly).

Whereas Lucy's was DTC's first storyline he planned when returning.
