There's actually a lot of theory that suggests there aren't many more immediate concerns; there's an approaching "tipping point" beyond which the environmental damage will snowball irreversibly.

There is inertia.

The amount of changes that the USA could make in 4 years are trivial. If they have already purchased environmentally friendlier plant and machinery, they arent going to replace it with less friendly equivalents in that time, why would they. Car manufacturers aren't going to relax their standards etc. etc.

To reply to a previous poster, it is ignorance to think that climate change can be affected in the time Trump is in power. He could well have a catastrophic effect, but it won't be in ignoring global warming commitments.
