I take it Mel swapped the bag as when it cut back to them she had bought him a few pints so he was probably not paying as close attention. And left him a wad as she pitied him.

But then "he's all yours" is a weird thing to say.

Ciara showing up at the end to make it a cliffhanger though. I don't understand why they'd leave his exit open ended.

But then Phil disappeared after being abandoned at the graveyard and he's apparently in Italy.

I'm really enjoying the show but the continuity really needs to be fixed. It's all over the place.

I'm assuming the money was taken before he left in the Taxi, but Mel believes Ben has the money? I'm sure Ben is heading for an off-screen death but it was unrealistically convenient that Ciara just happened to be in France.

I don't think she was.

I'm guessing she boarded with Mel, Mel had her chance to reason with Ben and then when he wasn't having any of it kind of handed him over for Ciara to get the money the hard way.

That must be what it is. Ciara threatens Ben or has him beat up for the cash only to realise he doesn't have it. Just frustrating that vital plot points are happening off screen. An ongoing problem with EE the last few years.

But Mel's back on the square trying to track the money down on Monday, so one way or another she knows Ben doesn't have it.

I assumed the money had been swapped when he rushed into the garage thinking someone had already been in there, opened the bag but didn’t actually check it contained money
