Oh I think Shane gets his kicks by converting straight guys whenever he can.
Then the attraction subsides. The ones he can't turn, stay in his memory, the others are discarded. It's all in the chase, it couldn't happen to a more deserving Andrew because Shane holds all the cards and Andrew is just the by product.
