I have a friend from Russia and he recently got sent to the Cinema by the job he works at for men's day with other male colleagues, I think different countries just take it more seriously than others.

I didn't think people would do stuff like that though, I thought it's more about raising awareness of mens issues in general and fund raising for mens cancers etc

Yesterday I had a meal at a restaurant here in Portugal and after every woman finished her meal she got a special slice of cake delivered to her by a waiter just as an expression of celebrating that she's a woman, for the day that it was. I thought it was so cute. (I couldn't eat it because I'm allergic to eggs but my boyfriend enjoyed his women's day treat! )

Makes it a bit more personal. It's very odd how some people seem threatened by IWD almost, from stuff I've been reading online
