It's a massive waste of time, you're either forcing people to delay their lives (and potentially end/ruin them) with military service or with pointless busy work in the guise of charity. It's utterly pointless either way.

You can't see what's up with forcing people to give up a year of their lives to do something they probably don't want to do, or even worse, will not be able to handle it?
