You live next door to Rita and Tom - a young childless couple. They regularly argue indoors and out, quite heatedly and with no regard for anyone who may be witnessing their argument, only then to be often seen shortly afterwards arm-in-arm as if nothing had happened.
One night you are laid in bed and you can hear an argument from the next door which rapidly becomes more and more intense with the sound of things being broken and Tom's violent shouting only being muffled by Rita's loud terrified screams. Suddenly Rita stops screaming and total silence descends. Would you: a) Mind your own business rationalising that she always forgives him so it is futile to interfere and will only lead to them turning on you. b) Knock on the wall and shout to ask Rita if she is OK? c) Call the police.
