It was a cheap Logitech, so not even that fancy

Can you imagine if they were done in by stick drift, though?

Even the $70-90 controllers aren't made like they used to be. Classic controllers, even ones with joysticks, didn't have this problem:

Stick drift refers to a problem where a controller's joystick moves on its own, causing unintended actions in games. This issue can often be fixed by recalibrating the controller or cleaning it to remove dust and grime.
