It lasts longer every time someone reaches a certain amount of warnings. Permanent bans can be removed. hence the really long bans
|

I got banned twice
It was because the mods have a habit of banning some people for much less than others so me and lili went on some mad rampage in the Suggestions forum  Didn't let it drop, so when I returned from first banning I started again

I remember my 4 day ban over my (alleged) involvement in "nodisgate". I had another couple also. Sunny used to ban me willy nilly by accident (or so she said)! Apparently "her finger slipped" a couple of times. Lol. Basically your first warning lasted 24 hours. Second was 48 hours. Third was 7 days. I assume it is still the same.

As simple as that. As a moderator on another forum I have lost count of the number of posters I have banned  However most of them were spammers. Am not sure if I was banned, but right back at the beginning of TIBB, I was accused of hacking TIBB, because it was hacked and I used to work as a programmer. However I had to point out professionally I used COBOL which was not what the hacker whoever they were must have used. Somewhere in the archives there is a reference to this. This was a case of mistaken identity and not of rule breaking.
