Best launch show in years, just showing how making small changes can make a huge difference.

Just a shame once it's over we're stuck with the awfully pointless launch night edition of Big Mouth rather than live streaming and the official website doesn't even realise the show has started yet.

I hope though the effort continues beyond the launch show, especially with the highlight shows which seriously need tweaking.

I know a lot on here will probably hate this, but I think the music worked really well tonight. I wouldn't be against the odd bit of incidental music in the highlights shows ... might dramatise it a bit more and make it less real but it could be worth a shot. Works on other similar shows. They also need to stop name checking everyone, that wastes a couple of minutes where we could get an extra scene or so in. They also really need to bring back the "coming up" bit before the ad breaks, something BB10 lacked. I found myself switching over and not switching back in the summer because I had no idea what was on later.

Yes, the music was really well done tonight, especially the swoops across the crowd and the effect used when the door closed.

My initial thought for incidental music in the show was "no", but I think I miss understood as though it would be awful under the regular scenes, it could really help to have music for things like tasks. Indeed the whole editing needs to change with tasks and nominations and where necessary they should edit together a VT to show them rather than stick to showing everything in chronological order.

Also agree the coming up segments should return, but the style needs updating. I'd open the show with a big swoop towards the house and then a "Previously..." segment, and then a flash of fire cutting into "Tonight...", and then ending with the door closing (with the effect from tonight) and then cutting to the titles. (That works brilliantly in my head, probably makes no sense written down!)

Yeah I get what you're trying to say, I think tonight was very theatrical and OTT and I think you're idea just fits that. I hope they stick with the same theme all the way through and don't revert to normal as of tomorrow.

I love the fact that the fundamentalist Christian got Marilyn Manson as an entrance theme.

Music during the highlights is a big no no though.

I don't mean full on songs, I just meant subtle bits (to build tension etc where needed) and as long as they don't overdo it it could work well.

I hope the evictions drop the music though, that didn't really work during Hijack and they've now set the bar for the summer.

I also like how theres no screen this year and its a projection onto the side of the house. I've always preferred the screen there, its more like a window then (I know its not but you can see what I'm getting at?)

I also liked the less serious approach they took this year, the VTs weren't egotistical or pretentious, making them sound like superstars. Davina took the piss really

I think subtle bits would be worse. It's like those silent nature shows that for some reason have full on Hollywood style dramatic music kick in when the animal gathers speed. Just looks silly and out of place IMO. Keep the highlights pure.

They should definately drop the music for evictions though.

I LOVED IT!

Fair do's, it was brilliant. The entrances, the VTs, the music/sound effects, EVERYTHING! The only thing I didn't like was Davina, but there you go. I also was expecting 12 to enter and therefore was kind of "...is that IT?!", but a very, very good launch!

One good thing is that it is trending on Twitter. 5 CBB topics are in the Top 10 trending topics on Twitter, including the official CBB7 Twitter, and Sisqo's twitter.
