Imagine me and my mates saw this at big tescs at like half 12.
And we all sat down on the floor like 7 of us, as my mate read it and showed us all the pictures, it was jokes, people walked past just smiling lol. I had like 13 different stories of these. ![]()

All the Famous Five books, all the Secret 7 and although I don't remember being a huge Roald Dahl fan, I do remember doing "Danny the Champion of the World" at school and absolutely loving every word of it

rhino, Little Women was one of favorite as well. All in all I always loved four books I was little older. 1. Anne of Green Gable 2. Daddy Longleggs 3. Littel Women 4. Jane Ayre Then I realised one day this books's heroin had one thing in common. |

I vaguely remember Anne of Green Gables from TV but I cant remember much what it was about - I never read it. What did they have in common?

Other faves were The Hobbit which I read when I was about 10, all the Just William books by Richmal Crompton, all the Billy Bunter books by Frank Richard, and all the Malory Towers books by Enid Blyton. Also loved The Chronicles of Narnia and later on Lord of the Rings. I spent a lot of time at the library, mostly to escape by three younger brothers. We weren't very well off, so we didn't have a tv, therefore books were very important to me.

This thread brought back some lovely memories for me. Anne of Green Gables, The Magic Faraway Tree and Little Women were all favourites of mine. I also loved The Weirdstone of Brisingamon. My absolute favourites were the Chronicles of Narnia, especially The Horse and His Boy and of course, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I was a bit obsessed, and every time I went somewhere new I would check the back of the wardrobe... just in case.

I remember the Chip, Biff, Kipper books that you had to progress up reading-boxes with.
& then other standards: Roald Dahl, Harry Potter, Goosebumps, Horrible Histories...
