No matter how similar the storyline is, these two films are completely incomparable imo. Battle Royale really didn't develop any characters, it was more like watching a video game and you really didn't get attached to any of the characters

i wouldn't say that. it was more real and brutal and realistic. the problem with hunger games is yes you get to know the people but then you spend 1hr 30 mins hoping they die but they never do lol

Well considering the weapons were guns and knives rather than genetically-mutated animals, birds that mimicked your sister's screams and blood-rain...

That's not to say I didn't like Battle Royale, i just don't think you can compare them as being similar films

A very, very good film. And one of the very few Japanese films i have ever watched.

Never seen or read Hunger Games so don't know how much they compare/don't compare but I think Battle Royale is pretty good. Well, the idea is, the execution could have been better but it's still pretty good.
