It 'kills' me when you see someone sitting at 45 stone, bed ridden who suddenly get the wake up call and they say, "I want to lose weight, I want to live, I hate living this way".

What happened during the previous ten years that they were getting bigger and bigger, more and more immobile.

They didn't suddenly wake up one morning and find that their 14 stone body had somehow, morphed into a 45 stone one. That only happens in movies.
I watch them when I am craving food but I know I shouldn't eat them. Puts me right off the idea of eating.

He's right. We need to get people eating more healthily and stop being obese.

There are healthy people getting cancer while fat people are getting cancers and diseases but because it is their own fault of what they have put in their mouth.

Okay some fat people have psychological problems and people shouldn't be as narrow minded when they see a fat person walking down the street.

But the supermarkets need to decrease the price in good quality products like fruit and veg!

Stop playing on the games consoles and get off your fat arse and do something!! Like a long walk at least. No excuse that "oh it's raining".

However people need to stop being picky. Obesity is a problem. But what is NOT a problem is people who are a bit overweight and curvylicious and are a size 14/16.

Ohh don't get me started. Fat should not be accepted it should be something people feel they need to change. Plus this whole 'curvy' women rubbish is ridiculous. Fair enough if your a size 12 woman then you are curvy. But Gok Wan telling these overweight moose that they are curvy is ridiculous.

so basically he has a book to promote and said something a bit contentious. k.

-is fat; doesn't particularly care that much; would probably lose weight if I could afford to go on a specific diet/join a gym; will probably lose a bit anyway with uni budgets -

To me..being really underweight is just as disgusting as being really overweight. But being a walking skeleton is more accepted by society.

Could not agree more Vicky.. I'd say it was far more concerning and far more of a problem - for all concerned, but mostly for the individual - anorexia can kill very quickly. Obesity can take years for the same outcome.

If a really really overweight person is sitting near me in a restaurant I can't eat properly. All I get is thought of being like that when I am older. But they have to be really fat.

I don't think it is actually, I think its just you can cover up a skeleton with clothes but its harder to disguise fat. If you lined people up naked I think people would generally be equally disgusted at the overweight and underweight person.

I did say to me. Its not an opinion I expect to be shared. Being ridiculously skinny is seen as fine to most. I dont see why.

Too true, both are bad for the health. Being underweight can lead to anorexia, where the body eats it's own muscle then as the body needs food, and the heart is a muscle which is very worrying for underweight anorexic people then. Fat people know they're fat, anorexic people cannot see that they are underweight a lot of the time.

Also anxiety, depression, needing love/attention, as well as certain illnesses or parents who push some children to over eat from an early age because they themselves do the same, different rates of metabolism, can all be a factor in being overweight, and I should think some probably even need counselling to feel better about themselves and an incentive to lose weight.

All those things need to be considered, so Frank Skinner is just being a heartless idiot in my opinion, picking out something he knows will get him attention. There are ways and means of getting a message across better than he has. Who made him the advocate for it all anyway? when he looks like shyte with his body.

Just my own honest opinion.

Same. If I'm around loads of fat people I feel good. I get so self-consious around other youths in say a shopping centre though.

and it's always down to the sheer volume of food on that show. It's scary the amount of food that some of them eat

That said, my personal preferance in blokes...is skinny. Not really skinny like bones sticking out though, but gangly looking types

I once slept with a guy who was a tiny bit overweight(a bit being maybe a stone or so, with clothes on you couldnt even tell he was overweight tbh) and it quite repulsed me. A bit hypocritical...because Im not exactly perfect myself, buy hey-ho

He cant have been technically over weight if you couldn't see it through clothes just a little too tubby for your liking.
