Tesco seems to make a real hash of their offers all the time by buggering them up - where they really ARE brilliant offers and they didn't click on!!

they only suss it out when people come in droves and the stock goes rapidly, then they realise they've screwed up.

I love seeing that!

It's been 4 cans of tango and 7up for £1 for ages. Don't think that's actually too bad at 25p a can

What gets me is shops charging like 70p or more for cans of soft drinks that you can get, as you say, cheap...... complete and utter rip off.

It's always the heavy stuff on offer. I shop online mostly but when I have a browse it's guranteed it all ends up weighing a tonne

Best way to do it imo, not trudging around filling up trolleys, to unload it all at the till, to load it back into the trolley, to then unload it from trolley into the car, then offload it into the house....

to hell with that ..... gimme £3 delivery, packed and dropped off 3 feet from my kitchen anyday. And if you're really clever, you make sure you get some 'specials' that make up the cost of the delivery charge (or get the freebie online reference codes).

Same thing happens here, people think they're getting such great deals but don't really think about it.

Especially since we just had thanksgiving, it was crazy.

Same here Nicole: the supermarket closes for one day...ONE DAY, yet people purchase foodstuffs like Armagedon has been announced. It's crackers!

Black Friday is the worst, we were in line for four hours trying to get some TV.

Apparently they're supposed to have the "best" deals.

The January sales used to be mayhem here. I think it's calmed down though now as the sales are all year round. Winter Sale. Summer Sale. Xmas Sale. Any excuse Sale......

Well it's the day after thanksgiving (for us). People do all their Christmas shopping then trying to get all the deals.

It's not worth it, imo.

I saw on tv this morning two women fighting at a store over an iron! They were both trying to get the last one but one gave up and threw it on that other woman!

I saw two senior citizens years ago, in Asda, at the 'downpriced meats' section - literally having a tug of war over a pre-packed sirloin steak..... I'm still unsure whether I found it funny or pathetic! Well...it was funny, but pathetic at the same time!!

thought I'd add this in here.....seeing as it was being discussed recently:- news article in today's Daily Mail. Looks like the Big 4 might be in a spot of bother over the very type of thing we were talking about on this thread

Quote:

Investigation found that buying products in bulk can be MORE expensive

Some 'savings' only came because the price was temporarily higher

There were also many examples of products being pushed as a special promotion with posters and labels that actually offered no saving.

One snapshot survey found that 17 items sold on the basis they were ‘bigger packs and better value’ were actually more expensive than buying the same items in smaller quantities.
