Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge someone who is suicidal.

They give no thought or understanding to the lifetime of pain, suffering and devastating loss placed upon family because they have no clarity of thought. If they did, they wouldn't be suicidal.

I find it incredibly heartless and harsh to say someone is selfish when they are not of sound mind. It's like criticising a man with no legs because of his inability to run fast.

Like what?

Many people dont even show signs of feeling suicidal. The ones that DO tell people about it, are just attention seeking IMO...those who actually want to die wouldnt tell anyone incase they were stopped.

Yes this story reckons she was 'groggy and pale' on the day of her death...we cant assume everyone who is groggy is suicidal

Yes. I have no notion of what any of that must feel like to be around people who either have committed suicide or attempt it every other month. None whatsoever.

Seems the only person making wrong judgments here and who wants to be walking in other people's shoes - is you - so many wrong assumptions you jump to.

That's an incredibly valid point. She spent some time on FB announcing it. Now.....I'd call that (hard, harsh but probably true)....very attention seeking.

Gabrielle Joseph, 16, told friends on Facebook: ‘I am going to kill myself tonight’ because she was so upset at being turned down for the date, due on the following night.
The young model died little more than an hour later.

She could have been groggy and pale after a night on the bevvy - as she alludes to being drunk on twitter one night...... she could have been hungover and father simply had no idea.

The title tells the the story - hence why it's called a headline.

It doesn't suggest he was at fault. It summarises the reason for her committing suicide: her choice, not his fault.

I'm not sure how you can read that as it being suggested it is the boy's fault?

Are you serious or just being pedantic again for the sake of raising an argument?

"after boy cancelled their cinema date" clearly indicates that this was the reason, summoned by the Daily Mail, that she killed herself. The article should merely report the suicide rather than make halfhearted suggestions as to her motives.

I know that if I read that and I was the boy involved I'd feel nothing but guilt, when he shouldn't do. Otherwise it's just an arbitrary piece of information about her day, it has no more validity or concern in the headline than "after eating slice of toast" would do

I'm being serious.

You said the article was disgustingly worded, shameful reporting et al.

When I asked why you thought it was:- from what you had said:-

Another disgustingly worded article from the Daily Mail with absolutely no regard for the grief and thoughts of the boy or her family. Shameful.
You replied, not detailing what in the article that you found off, but insteadk you said it was the title.

I've explained very clearly why I don't think the title suggests anything of the sort that the lad is to blame:although you may disagree with me, my explanation is an alternative viewpoint - there really is no need for you to get all shirty because I don't agree with you or vice versa. There are other opinions on here Shaun apart from your own.

Hmm. I only read the bit of the story in the OP as I cant usually stand daily mail articles :/

This sort of blows my theory out of the water actually...

Not entirely. If she wanted to just go out and get it over and done with - why go onto FB to announce it - unless of course there was some attention seeking being done.

Horrid thing to say: but an entirely plausible twist is: beautifully attractive, go getter, popular young lass, has everything going for her, parents who spoil her (note comments on twitter re her mother going nuts at the cost of wetsuits), used to getting what she wants. Lad she fancies cancels a date: goes OTT - says she's going to do this - thinking it will make the lad change his mind (or better, come save her)...... and it didn't quite work out that way.
