ikr. Personally I think it would make a pretty good movie. Can't think why they've never thought to do one.

Yeah think you are right there, and they could also release a 3 d version as well, especially if it had been timed to be released about now.

In 1898, Fourteen years before the Titanic sank, a book was published called Futility - The Wreck of the Titan by Morgan Robertson. The Titan was a ship described as “unsinkable”, was the largest, most luxurious ship in the world, had 3000 passengers on board, hit an iceberg on its starboard side, didn’t have enough lifeboats on board and sank during the month of April. Bit of a coincidence, eh?

OMG. Stranger indeed, good to see your name!. Hope all is good with you.

I agree with you both. What a missed opportunity to make mega millions. What are all these movie producers thinking. Pfft.

Technically Titanic only hit the iceberg today so we can't really class today as the sinking. And even then, Titanic only hit the iceberg at 11:40pm.

It's so strange to think 100 years ago today, Titanic was to sink, killing 1500+ people..

If only the Titanic stayed Straight
hit it head on, would have saved the ship.

This is something i've heard loads of times. If the Titanic had hit the iceberg head on, it would have created more damage and then more deaths would it not?

100 years to the minute that the Titanic hit the iceberg, 23:40 on 14th April 1912. Very surreal...

They're doing a show on Radio 2 (first time I have ever actually wanted to listen in...) called 'Titanic: Minute By Minute', with Jeremy Vine, Dermot O'Leary and some others...if you're interested, you can listen live here

I imagine it was a tragic day for those people, I can't believe it's been 100 years.

It must have been horrific for everyone aboard, especially the lower decks, who never stood a chance

It's so weird listening to this, hearing the letters etc. It's weird because I've never really paid much attention to anniversary's of the Titanic before, but this is something special I think. 100 years to the day, hour even. It's just surreal to imagine how it must've been all that time ago, happening right now as we speak.

It must have been the worst nightmare for the people on board, I find it impossible to really take on and imagine the terror and panic that must have really been the case once they knew the Ship would sink and was in fact sinking.

It didn't actually happen - it was a fiction novel so it's not history.

It's the coincedence in such a fiction story being written, given the name, the conditions etc.
