Default Why is the Burka banned in France?
Does anyone know what the actual logic behind this is? I know it attracts looks and all but surely it's up to them to decide what to do?

There probably isn't a single person on here who has quite so much hate for the sheer idiocy of Islam as I but why ban it?

Not too sure, but i can see reasons why it would be. Mainly, security. In a day where the majority of our lives is CCTV recorded, it makes no sense to allow people to walk round hiding under burkas on all looking the same. Motorbike helmets arent allowed in most public places (banks, supermarkets etc) so I dont see why burkas should be.

I don't know much about the law. is it just the Burka that is banned? or is it all face covering? are balaclavas illegal? or masks?

If it's only the Burka and not all face coverings it does seem unfair.
