Its not google, you're quite correct but it is a public forum with a section for off topic chat and banter so I don't quite see what the problem is really? If I don't like / have interest in a thread I move along and view another...

It absolutely is an issue of respect though. I do not take kindly to being spoken down to or having assumptions made about hidden meanings in the posts I make.
