More off field football politics nonsense, sensationalized by the media, I can't believe what i've just seen, Eamonn Holmes interviewing The Home secretary Thersa May and at the end of the interview asking her what she thought about it, ridiculous.

Wilshire is paid ridiculous amounts of money to play football, I just want to see him do that thanks, I couldn't give a shining sh*te what his opinion of a non event are.

By the way, while the media are sensationalizing non stories like this, their not promoting up and coming sporting events, in just over two weeks time, The Rugby League World Cup repeat World Cup Will be getting underway, did any of you even know that? tell me, is this story about Wilshire bigger then that?

What next? are they gonna tell us what Leighton Baines had for breakfast? or what toothpaste Gary Cahill uses?

There should be some distinction between those who've been in the country for a few years, and desperate bids made to players like this where he's another 3 years away from qualification. It's small time.

Someone like Victor Moses had a genuine reason to be called up for England before Nigeria got him, but this kid? Not a chance.

He's supposed to be waiting for Kosovo to eventually be given the full national team. They already have youth teams, but are now on the road to a full international side.

RL is a terrible game. Run into your opponents 4 times then boot it.

And how many Rugby League games have you attended or full games have you watched, to form that view? Why don't you lie to me and tell me you've seen lots and attended lots of games.

I've watched some - never attended a live game, but I like sport. I'd guess most people who post in the sports forum have at least watched part of a game of RL. The fact that hardly anyone knows the RLWC is about to start kind of suggests that most people don't really like RL. It is a dire game in my opinion.

My point was, whether you like the sport or not, should a nothing throw away comment by Jack Wilshire, be given far far more media coverage then an upcoming sporting World Cup being held on these Shores?

Yes because more people are interested in Jack Wilshere then they are about Rugby League on the whole, you could say he himself is bigger then the whole sport, probably more Arsenal fans then actual rugby league supporters

the newspaper sales would be at an all time low if Rugby League was making the Sports headlines everyday

The same was probably said about Rugby Union in 2003, then England won the World cup, and so the Media jumped on the bandwagon and said we'll have a piece of that, Johnny Wilkinson became one of the most famous people in the Country at the time, Bus rooftop celebrations in London, Knighthoods and MBE's, Television shows ect ect, because the media sensationalized it.

lol.. rugby Union is in a different league when it comes to the world cup, when people think of the Rugby World Cup they instantly think of Union and not League and hence why every match is shown on BBC/ITV like the football world cup

Probably hard to care about the RL World Cup because it's a very minor sport internationally really, looking at the past winners before 08 when NZ won it's only ever been won by England and Australia and even then we haven't won it since 1972 lol

For me (i'm sure we're all different) but for me personally, i find it hard to care that Jack Wilshire has an opinion, and i'm much more interested in an up and coming sporting World Cup of IMO the greatest game of all.

1972 the last time England won, well they're six years better of then the Football team.
