the first couple shows with the hot tub exploits got it off to an explosive start....the frank carsons dressing room controversy carried it through the later stages, kind of tapered off at the end but I think those two events made up for bland hgs Ollie. Sam, etc..

I think it's just because it's a particularly slow news cycle. not much else going on.

I think it's great for BBUk though, i think they needed a shot in the arm, and i think this will motivate them to invest more in BB for the summer, and really keep on with BB.

I was ready to give up on BBUK after the dire summer series, both civilian and the summer CBB last year were horrible imo, so i'm glad that the popularity of this series might motivate the producers into really doing something special this coming summer.

This year the array of cast was more intrinsic and captivating; you had a fiery Apprentice candidate, a childhood family TV gameshow host, a well known boyband singer (not a second rate band), a big and controversial Daily mail journalist, Lionel Blair , etc.

I think they picked the right cast that captivated and lured a bigger mix of interest than previous years.
But not knowing who a person is doesn't make for a boring series, we have no idea who the people are who enter civilian BB so surely its the same thing?

I still think it's because of Liz Jones. If you worked in a particular industry and one of the high-fliers of your industry took part in CBB, you'd watch it - mostly from social necessity, so you can participate in networking gossip, and partly to see her performance and how it impacts her career thereafter.. Now that she has managed to come out smelling of roses, we might see a few more journalists following suit.

Lionel Blair said he went in because of the impact it had made on the careers of other people.. Marvelous that at his age he's still willing to try new things and move forward in his career. What an incredibly inspirational attitude.

I strongly suspect that there was a great expectant anticipation of a special blow-up between Jim and Linda...which never really materialised did it,...just a slow rumbling of hostility really, but no earth shattering all-out war!
There will also be the ones that wanted Jim to expose his 'evil ways'...you know, deep rooted homophobia and constantly show disdain toward 'Nice-Guy-Ollie' ...or a bastardly disability-hater,that would sneer at and demean disabled people...or an incurable-misogynist that might even "give that Nolan tart a smack in the mouth...or sumfink" ! ...well, he disappointed them on all accounts didn't he!...but instead, by showing us 'the real Jim Davidson' [or Cameron] he gave us all a pleasant surprise and deservedly came out the winner of this pretty fair effort of a CBB!
Well Done Jim!

Yes but CBB is different from BB. It has a different following. I never used to bother with CBB as it always seemed a washed out version of BB, and this year I gave it a chance beacause of the cast they had lined up,

It was a bit weird, yeah. I think there is a lot of PR stuff goes on behind the scenes, that the public isn't privy, to promote the series in the press. I noticed it before the series started with rumours about the HM line-up - often wrong - turning up in the main tabloids.

C5 have probably gotten better at it with Celebrity Big brother. I wondered if any of the events in the house were setup, even if it was only informally, before the housemates went in.
