I think out of the house away from Helen and her nasty gang she is sweet caring person. Being trapped with Helen brings out the coping mechanism. It is easier to defend yourself if you fight back rather than carry on being sweet and caring.

Yeah, I know, that's why I don't like people calling the Ashleigh/Chris/Christopher crew 'miserable' because it's not surprising. The other crew normally have stupid smug grins on their faces because they like making everyone else miserable, but they're the miserable ones in my eyes :P

yes, some people do swear, that does not make them real, just ignorant. i don't think that you can describe someone as being sweet when they swear like a navvy. as for being trapped in the house, she can leave at any time. helen had already said that she was going to donate to a charity. very churlish comments from you about 'nasty gang'. although i do wonder what ashleighs thoughts will be when she finds out that chris was going to take the money, not for charity, but to split between himself, ashleigh and christopher. point being made is there are good and bad in both groups in the house

When it comes to being hated she just can't hold a candle to Helen.....not even in the same league!
By the time Ashleigh's 27 she'll be a very successful, mature young woman with a great life ahead of her. Helen's already 27 and look at the mess she's made of it and she still acts like a spoilt child.

Chris and Christopher swear. They also bitch. They do EVERYTHING that Ashleigh does. The 3 of them are all nice people, but Ashleigh is the only one who gets hated. Because of the way she looks. Chris had a week of creepy Chris BS but was never hated for same reasons as Ashleigh. Helen would give to charity? Really? Why did she refuse to give £1k of the money to charity then? Why did Winston? They are nasty people that's why.

..yeah I fairly much agree with this...so much leeway is given for Helen's past and that she may have had a tough life but none is given to Ashleigh for the fact that she was bullied...and I think it's because she hasn't fitted the 'stereotypical victim' thing but the whole situation in the house from the beginning with the clique must have been awful for her and for the first few weeks she looked to me out of her depth...then she started to 'fight it' by trying to manipulate Ash from being saved...probably as a way to try to diffuse the clique and take away a big part of them..it didn't work but at least she tried and she gathered 'haters' for that...


..anyway, she's far from perfect, who is...but I think she has on the whole, conducted herself well through her time in the house and with some of the personalities that have been there...the 'language' thing is funny as well because yeah she swears, can swear with the best of them..so she's as bad as Helen/they're as bad as each other..?..well no, because with Helen it's not just about swearing, that's nothing/who cares..it's things like what she says...the toast..?..Christopher..?..things like that, whe's just plain bitter and mean and I personally don't believe Ashleigh is...most people would have to go some way to ever become a 'Helen' in this life....

Plenty of highly intelligent people swear. It's a way of expressing yourself and how on earth can anyone be described as ignorant just because they use certain words ? If anything limiting your use of the English language by discounting certain words is far more ignorant, by definition!

I can easily see why Ashleigh is hated, the way she bitches about people behind their back, the way she's mean about another's appearance, and she'll be nice to that person's face. She seems to lack the ability to forgive and at times has come across as bitter and spiteful.

Do I hate Ashleigh? Not at all, I think she'll make a great winner, although being a winner of BB isn't that much of a badge of honor.

I think her popularity is more a product of a way to get at Helen more than a reflection of her character because she really isn't a nice person thats for sure.

But yes she will be gone and forgotten in a few days whatever happens which i just find hilarious.

..I will say though that her popularity for me and I suspect many others is by no way as merely a negative popularity against Helen...the two are often mentioned together because there have been so many negative interactions between them during the series....

No it was a generalization i admit but her coldness just makes her seem so uncaring to me.
She is shrewd and seems like the type of person that would throw her best friend under a bus if she thought she could make money out of it.
