Never felt the need to have twitter, mainly just seems useful for newsy sort of stuff whereas Facebook is much better for actually keeping in touch with friends and whats going on in their lives, it's more personal

I use both to gain information regarding BB for example (HM popularity, bio/surnames, breaking news for example) but don´t really use them myself much (profile building, discussing and stuff).

I think the two have completely different purposes. Facebook is useful in keeping contact with friends/family and arranging events whilst Twitter is more about offloading current thoughts and seeing if people respond plus keeping updated with celebrities/music/TV shows etc. Facebook is definitely more essential than Twitter.
