Nowt wrong with banter (and it's not confined to just the lads either) but actual lad culture is deplorable.

Probably not in the extreme sense that everyone defines it on here. I would just use 'lads' like I would 'blokes/guys/etc.' The stereotype of a 'LAD' that people moan about isn't even that big of a thing or that common really, and most the people who do act like that are just taking the piss with it
