I really can't imagine them sending in a big name like Katie, more than a week after the show has started, especially not for 500k.

Im pretty sure this was planned as she will spend 3 weeks in there (a normal series length) and she will be a massive surprise to the housemates and wether you like her or not you have to admit she is a big name to send in

its all down to advertising revenues at the end of the day, so either the series has already increased that potential to warrant an extra 500k spend now, or they believe kp will more than generate that by her arrival
