I wonder how many people would go out and protest this cull and try and disrupt it if it did happen or if such actions are just reserved for cute furry animals like badgers

No culling necessary ,humans just need to be cleaner and less greedy,and stop with the littering and over fishing,they are after food that is usually left lying on the ground.

Someone tried that in the 30's/40's, I've read that it didn't go very well. He managed a few but bloody activists kicked off about it.
