It matters because tons of people are being bullied/murdered/raped/abused by religions every single Effing day on this planet. and the only excuse they give for doing is "it's my religion, it's my tradition, it's my culture".

Well I'm still waiting for the major religions to say that gay people are just as natural and normal as straight people, still waiting for most religions to say that people of other religions are just as holy/beautiful/special as the people of their own religions, i'm still waiting for most religions to say that men and women are 100% equal and should be treated 100% the same...

You're making the same misconception again.

You cannot group together every single believer in a religion and demand a singular response, different people in that religion believe different things. Most of the people in these groups, in Europe at least, already believe in equality..

Muslims certainly don't hate Christians, in fact Jesus takes up a fairly big chunk of the Quran and even more is written about Mary. Whilst they acknowledge that Jesus was an important profit, they, unlike Christians, don't believe he was divine.

Christians on the other hand believe Mohammed was a false prophet.
