BB cheat people all the time into making people believe what they want them to believe. The majority of viewers just watch the highlight show and not the live feed, so they can leave out certain things to make a conversation or scene seem completely different to how it actually is.
For example, they showed Gemma pushing past Steph in the garden, yet they didn't show the HM's remarking about how Steph had been sniping at Gemma for two days before that. Even Jeremy told her to 'cut it out' under the covers but none of that was in the highlights as far as I seen.
When Tiff was asking John about knickergate on the live feed, he said 'I would never humiliate a young girl like that' - a blatant lie because he was the main instigator as we all seen. Yet that was never shown in the H/Ls.
It is all done to suit their agenda.
So you are spending your money and your time anyway on a contrived version and what they want you to see.

I don't think Gemma is in control of BB - they would never let that happen. I think it is simply that they see her as good for their show. She is providing entertainment, talking points, action, a lot of interest in her shenanigans. I'd say they are loving her refusal of tasks, etc, for lets face it, there isn't really any big storylines in there apart from the cheating Steph and the fawning Jeremy, which is a total snoozefest.
They aren't letting her control them, they are using her and her actions for viewing figures, it's what it's all about. Of course they aren't going to punish her and tell her she'll be removed if she does it again....Gemma IS the show so far.
Maybe now that the lovely Tiff is stepping it up...

I dislike her because she is unkind to others and is being protected from any accountability for it but mostly I dislike her, and big brothers protection of her, for making me so angry and leaving me with no where to channel it
I have no sympathy for her and any over weight people will hopefully realise what this is about ....it's just a hook to try and reach her, it's not an attack on them.
If a gay housemate behaved so appallingly, yet was made untouchable, then insults about the fact that they are gay would become people's last resort....I am gay and I totally would understand what that is and I would not take it personally and I would not be offended.

I empathise with nice people who support Gemma, I really do and I think you're one of those....I support Jeremy and I receive a barage of abuse because of it so I know it's not an easy position....but I am gen sorry, I don't agree that she's been this years entertainment.....I think she's been a talking point because of BBs actions and not because of her own...if BB had made special dispensation for Tiffany all these weeks or for Daniela then we would be having the conversation about them and not Gemma. It's mostly what she's been allowed to not do that's been the biggest talking point and not what she's actually done...cause in truth, she hasn't actually done anything that remarkable...or said anything that funny compared to most of the others that went I there.
I did not start of with this opinion, I liked her from what little I'd seen on panel shows etc....id never watched TOWIE....I was excited about her going in the Jungle and I was excited about her going in BB....it's not some kind of hatred as a sport....it's based on my own principles and the lack of hers.

Well we'll just have to agree to disagree on this. Since Angie left the house (I loved her) to me Gemma has been the star of the show and I find her to be the most entertaining, followed by Tiffany (who is my actual favourite HM.) We all find different things entertaining and amusing, and to me Gemma is hilarious at times, and Tiff too, and I don't find any of the others amusing or interesting. I like Darren a lot but he doesn't exactly make great CBB viewing.

I defend Gemma because she makes me laugh, and I love to laugh, but also because of the disgusting remarks made about her weight and the exaggerations made about her nature - she has been branded a bully for instance and I don't see that at all. The times on this site where actual bullies like Helen Wood have been defended by people saying "The bully word is bandied about far too much"!!!! but when it's someone they dislike they shout BULLY! for little reason. Who exactly has she bullied? She is branded vile and disgusting and I don't see that either. I see that she is lazy, wants her own way and speaks her mind, but bully, no, vile, no, disgusting, no.
She doesn't hold grudges, she doesn't yell or scream at anyone, she doesn't have to have the last word, and basically she is harmless. Megan said in her interview that she really likes her, and Christopher said he 'gets' her now and that she is great. They have lived with her 24 hours a day, so they should know.
But apart from all that, we like who we like and nothing is going to change our minds. (Well, wait - I didn't like Tiff at first, but now I love her!)
