I was following your metaphor. If Ricky is wallpaper, Bear and Lewis are giant STD posters. Giving the options, its fairly obvious to understand why the wallpaper topped the vote.

I think it's a reflection of the others up for eviction, and a case that viewers are fed up with the likes of the ridiculous Bear and the smug Lewis, as well as the somewhat delusional comments of Sam.

In other circumstances, in a different series and with different housemates, I don't think Ricky would have come out top in a vote to save. And he certainly would not have a chance of winning.

However, I don't believe this vote is about Ricky at all.

This is not an Eastenders vote, but a protest vote, and the large majority of viewers sending a clear message to the likes of Bear and Lewis (and probably BB) that they've had enough of the fake, regurgitated 'performances' of those from what are ironically referred to as 'reality' shows, in which there is more acting than there is on Eastenders, but of a very poor quality.

It is a protest vote from genuine long term fans of CBB who don't want to see the show they love become just another version of GS, EOTB, TOWIE, etc. It is a protest vote for genuine, decent housemates with morals over the infantile, selfish, conceited and one-dimensional housemates whose bullying and degrading actions have suffocated other housemates and destroyed this series, making it the worse CBB we have ever had.

I really disliked Katie Hopkins, and probably would have voted for anyone except her, regardless of who they were, but I loved Katie Price so I don't think she won because of that (and I wasn't a fan of hers before the show, I actually couldn't stand her before CBB, so it wasn't a pre-existing fanbase vote from me). I know none of that's really relevant but it always gets said about Katie Price's win when actually I think a lot of people like myself just thought she was a great housemate.
