If it turns out to be true, I would urge fans to boycott the show or forever be party to this treatment of LGBT acts.

Yeah I don't think every act should be forced to publicly come out before they go on the show. Obviously it's frustrating that they're being told to play up the lie in their VTs and interviews, and does give off the impression that it's a dirty little secret rather than a major and acceptable part of their personality, but there's something dark about Twittergays wanting every gay celebrity to be exposed and out on their terms, rather than the celebrity's.

(Admittedly I am part of the problem, speculating from time to time "oh he might be gay, yeah he's definitely in the closet" etc)

Tbh they didn't make any deal about Freddy's sexuality except from when they made him change pronouns in his songs

With Matt it's quite extreme, so genuinely might be someone else.
