Not surprised in the slightest that things like this happen. Not when the mainstream news sources dehumanise and demonise immigrants and asylum seekers on an almost daily basis, and half of the public ****ing celebrate that. This is the end result. We will only see attacks like this increase.

We do unfortunatly get attacks from both sides but unfortunatly it only seems to be frothed at the mouth by the news outlets when its brits attacking the asylum seekers.

What happened to him was disgusting and those responsible should be suitably punished.

However the actions of a few isolated drunken morons cannot compare with the contrived, barbaric terrorist mass murder of soft targets, including many children, in the West from ISiS and their supporters. Some people are stupid, I'll give you that. But I think the vast majority of people, including those who read the Daily Mail, are aware of the kind of manipulation that's being spoken about here. This forum does not house the most intelligent people in the country; it's not just people here who are aware that the press is blatant in its manipulation... most people can see it. However, I'd be shocked to the core to find out that those who carried out this attack have ever read a newspaper, let alone the Mail.

That's almost the point, though. They don't read them. They read the sensationalist headlines emblazoned on the newspaper stands and then stomp off muttering about the country going to the dogs. If you actually dig into the articles themselves, towards the end, the sensationalism tends to tail off and you get some actual realistic facts and statistics... ... ... But the sorts of people you're talking about never get that far. They see the big bold scary words and maybe the first couple of sentences, and then make up the rest of the story in their heads, and pass it on to their mates, saying "It's true I saw it in da paper".

COPS investigating a suspected hate crime which left a teenage asylum seeker fighting for his life charged five people this morning.

A teenager suffered a fractured skull and blood clot on his brain after being attacked by up to 30 thugs at a bus stop in Croydon, south-east London.

The victim was chased by a group for about 100 yards into an estate before set upon.

Five people, including two brothers and a brother and sister, appeared in court this morning charged with violent disorder.

Brother and sister Danyelle, 24 and Daryl Davis, 20, of Laurel Crescent, Croydon, are both charged with violent disorder following the attack on the asylum seeker on Friday evening.

Brothers George, 20, and Jack Walder, of Myrtle Road, Croydon are also both charged with violent disorder.

George was additionally charged with racially aggravated grievous bodily harm.

Another man, 20 year old Barry Potts, of Fir Tree Gardens, also faces a charge of violent disorder.

This evening police confirmed Kyran Evans, 23, and a 17-year-old girl had also been charged over the attack.

All five appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court this morning and were released on bail apart from George Walder, who will remain in custody until their next court appearance at Croydon Crown Court on May 1.

On Sunday police arrested a 23 year old man and a 17-year-old girl on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder.

This morning a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder.

Two others, a 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, who were arrested over the weekend were released with no further action this morning.

Detectives today described the attack as “horrendous” and “racially motivated”.

In total 11 people have been arrested, and police have identified five others they want to talk to.

The attack in Croydon, south London, left the victim with a fractured skull and blood clot on the brain.

He was taken to a south London hospital, where he remains. His condition is described as serious but stable, and is not believed to be life-threatening.

The horrific attack on the teenager has sent shockwaves across London and the rest of the UK

The gang involved in the attack have been labelled "scum" by Croydon Central MP Gavin Barwell, while London Mayor Sadiq Khan has also weighed in on the attack to condemn it.

Khan said: "Hate crime has no place in London, Britain or anywhere else.

"Our communities will not be divided by those who seek to sow hate.

"And we will always take a zero tolerance approach to hate crimes of any type.

"Anyone who witnesses a hate crime should report it to the police immediately."
