Even then, an aversion to the ideology of islam is pretty reasonable, hating on the average muslim is not. I'd have less issue if it was Muslimphobia rather than Islamophobia.

Me too, although I don't see it as confusion but ignorance. If you point that out however there is suggestions of levels of offence felt similar to that at a 'we are PC' conference
