Heysel was a tragic event for which the Liverpool supporters were primarily to blame. Football is always in flux. United went 26 years without winning the league and are now considered the biggest. I don't think we're the biggest because we've been run and owned by amateurs for large chunks of the last 2 decades, and biggest is a meaningless description.

Most successful is the only description I'm interested in, and only a fool could consider us that. Even though we've been bad, we've still made it to as many European finals as united did in all their years of dominance of the English league. I don't expect us to beat Madrid and no doubt I'll be pissed if we lose, but competing at the top table again is just better than not competing.


I'm enjoying football again, and Klopp is the perfect manager for us, just as I'm sure the guy who was sacked at Watford will be perfect manager for you.
