For what logical reason would having some non-heterosexual people on the show lead to less viewership? Please enlighten me.
Well yes having worked in that business for around 15 years I guess I am, what are your credentials?

You could ask, "where are a lot of people?" It's their show and they should be able to put on who they want. If you don't like it, then don't watch, nobody is forcing you to.

No. The whole point of the show is matching men with women, that's the premise. Matching men with men or women with women would require a different show with a different format. Still a terrible show though, mind.

Thats ridiculous. The concept wouldn't work well with lgbt contestants.

Because the point of the show is that all the men are fighting over the women and vice versa.

If it had lgbt contestants, there would be hardly anyone fighting over anyone, as there would only be a small select of lesbians, a small select of gays, and a small select of straight men and straight women. It'd also mean there would be contestants that had ZERO interest in others, defeating the purpose of the show and removing a lot of potential drama [i.e. lesbians and gays]

It'd take away from everyone fighting for everyone as everyone would be split into 4 seperate categories, the cast would need to be huge for it to have that effect, and a huge cast means you know no one..

So lesbians and gays don't get into arguments? Okay then. You could also have bi people who could fight over both men AND women

... well no not really sis. If they cast good people, they will create entertainment and drama regardless of what their sexual orientation is. Ok, so they might need to make the cast a bit bigger. Who cares? Last years' series had about 34 islanders in total.

I don't know but the show sounds terrible so I'm tempted to vote 'Yes' just to be awkward

Greg why haven't you included Take Me Out since that is basically setting up a male with a female just like Love Island?

Li are interested in doing a LGBT version so i don't see them being homophobic at all.

If they do make an LGBT version or include gays in the normal version then I'll be a happy chick!

For the record, not trying to sound like a SJW but I think Take Me Out is homophobic, and sexist as well. And ****

Definitely not homophobic - but without doubt very heteronormative.

Can't be criticised for this, though. It's a reality show on a commercial broadcaster - it has to appeal to the largest, most lucrative market: young straight people.

In terms of the show incorporating LGBT contestants, it really wouldn't work. Love Island follows a very restrictive format. Adding in gay people would make it a very complicated, contrived and divided show...

The option of having an LGBT version isn't viable. It would not do as well in the ratings and it'd be accused of stereotyping.

Not everything can be for everyone.
