With soaps, I read spoilers, I couldn't care if I have the fact that Michelle and Carla are Ken Barlow's long lost separated twin daughters spoiled

With actual shows? Depends. Surprisingly I avoid R*verdale spoilers but I always like having a peep at TWD spoilers in fact, talking about TWD spoilers (details on the Season 8 Mid-Season Finale - over a year old news but I figure it's only suitable that I hide this next part )
Spoiler:

I had Carl's death, easily the biggest death on the show, spoiled, yet I still had that feeling of anticipation of "how is he gonna die??" and enjoyment throughout the entire episode

There's a show I watch that used to ALWAYS get spoilt. One episode didn't get spoilt, thankfully, and I really enjoyed it so since then I always avoid spoilers for that show

So basically, it depends on the show. Sometimes the enjoyment and investment in the series isn't even a factor in whether I check spoilers or not

Only if I'm watching something vaguely gory/horror-themed. I want to know what grossness is coming my way.

How on earth do you understand the last few pages of a book you haven't read?

Especially for twist endings etc. Even knowing there's a twist ahead of time spoils it as you inevitably start guessing what sort of twists could occur and spoil it for yourself.

I want to be left gobsmacked.

Depends if I really love the show or not.

I don't read anything GOT related and never read Drag Race spoilers if I watch the season in real time but I read Walking Dead spoilers now because I skip episodes where nothing substansial happens.

What can I say, its a.skill.

I tend to read the first chapter or so, try to decide how it plays out, then check if I'm right.

Reminds me of my brother when we'd go on holiday and he'd get one of those puzzle books. He'd be so impatient, if he didn't think of the answer in 30 seconds he'd constantly flip to the back to check the answer.

No but fun fact, some researchers recently put this sort of thing to a test and found out that those who spoil a movie that have a twist in them before they watch a movie for the first time prefer the movie to those who do not know what the twist is

I look at spoilers for soaps and RTV but that's it. Dramas and TV shows I'll keep as a surprise.

Unless watching it before my family counts, because often I'll watch it before my mum has chance to watch it with me and pretend I haven't seen it already because I'm impatient

No its usually a foregone conclusion or a loada toss to string it out longer - they always use the most annoying characters as well, which makes ya hate em all the more. No offence.

I try not to... before I got into live feeds and reading up on BB news and what not I avoided spoilers at ALL COSTS but since then I'll read spoilers a bit.

For non-RTV shows I'm still the same way... absolutely NOT @ reading spoilers. It ruins it tbh
