1996 or 97, myself and my best friend didnt know what to ask for at Christmas so we spotted the Motorola (I think it was the MR201) in argos and we thought it would be amazing to talk to each other on them lol, we asked our parents and got them.

No one else we knew had really had a mobile phone so we thought we were the dogs bollocks lmao

Oh and I even had a fabric and plastic cover for mine

Think it was a Sony Ericsson T66. I know it was an Ericsson, just not sure of the model.

My first phone was a Nokia Banana phone 8110. I loved it. I remember when I first got a phone you could only text people on the same network, I was on orange and my bf got a phone but it was on voda so we couldn't text

All I remember about it was it was a dark green colour and had a little stubby aerial. This was like 1998/9ish. Definitely wasn't a "big make" like Nokia or anything.

EDIT: thinking back it may have been Ericsson?

Obviously phones are much better now but all look pretty much the same, this thread makes me nostalgic for when there was so much more variety in design and appearance
