Well I'm not going anywhere...I still like a majority of the people on here. This is the only Forum I go on and I only joined it because of BB. I dont need or desire to be on a forum 24/7 so its nice to just clock in now and again and join in on subjects that I like discussing....

+1 right here.

And I only stayed after BB ended because I was asked to.

I do a 5 minute routine every morning, check facebook, check paddy power, check bank, catch bus.

Check ToncewasBB on the bus, then pop back every now and through the day to relieve the boredom.

I wouldn't say it needs saving. It is what it is now
it's a different place to what it was there are still great moments on here the fact that so many people have gone hasn't helped though. If big brother was to make a return I reckon this place could once again thrive with a lot of old and new members joining. But as for reality TV even love island isn't a huge topic on here. Strictly seems to be discussed though which is good. So the main focus has been serious debates and thats gonna cause division obviously

A good post and the sort of answer I was hoping for from the OP. I hope the place can once again thrive and attract new and old members back. Its a real shame how numbers have dwindled.

We need to maybe rebrand as a general Reality TV Forum.

Or add other sections of the Forum to get different types of members to be interested such as a Comic Book/Manga Forum, or an Anime Forum or a Science Forum dedicated to people interested in what current Scientific research is happening.

The only way this site will very maybe redeem itself is if BB actually came back. It will never be the same as it was, nothing ever is. Like other people have said it’s not just TiBB that is ****, forums in general aren’t what they used to be.

Rebrand to "This is Reality," drop all the profile fields going back to 2009 for various reality shows, change the forum software or at least bring in a brand new light and dark theme and ditch the old ones and streamline the hell out of the forum index:

BIG BROTHER
General and Future Big Brother
Legacy Big Brother Series
Legacy Celebrity Big Brother Series
International Big Brother

ENTERTAINMENT
Reality Television
Scripted Television
Film
Music
Sport
Gaming

THE LOUNGE
Community Chat
Chat & Games
News & Debates
Adults Only
Fan Artwork Showcase

Quite like this idea, might go even further and have a combined film, music and games forum and I'm not sure there needs to be separate forums for community chat and chat and games

Yeah I was thinking at this point you could easily combine non-reality TV, movies, and games into one subforum as these days they’re actually all a very similar form of media, lines are much more blurred than they used to be e.g. the MCU now thoroughly spans cinematic movies and streaming TV, big game releases are much more heavily narrative-driven than they used to be, etc.

Maybe music too although I think it could still be separate, it’s closer to “reality” than “fiction” in a way. Maybe music & celeb news could work.

interesting idea this one, and like this you could also keep the subforums for Reality Television but bringing that one more forward, highlighted

my only addition to this would be a separate news section, for mainly celebrity news, from sites like TMZ, E!

and as for Movies/Film, maybe a section of its own since we got all different sort of stuff for that like upcoming film news, premiere events (since those are going to happen again), award show events, and a place for appreciation threads for some of the more popular hollywood actors would be nice either

Some good ideas here. I've changed some forum names, and made the BB sub-forum titles tidier.

I have thought about a new forum system but the trouble is I wrote a whole article system which links into the current forum that wouldn't work if we changed... Not that the article system is used much - that's why I suggested a while ago that it could be used to publish articles like movie and music reviews but there was no takers.

I do still want to make a new forum theme that is better for small screens.

One of the main reasons to update to vBulletin 5 is that it has extensive native small screen support, but I appreciate that vBulletin isn’t exactly cheap. I had extensive vB 4 experience and still have a license gathering dust but to be honest built-in mobile compatibility wasn’t much better on that than 3. One of my proudest web dev achievements was my custom small screen vb4 skin . And yet one of my greatest failures. I tried for months to get a PM notification icon working. I had a “private messages” icon at the top and I wanted it to turn yellow when the user had a new PM but I never got it to work … it would change the first time they got a new PM after swapping to that skin, but then it wouldn’t change back after they had read it and would just be stuck as yellow ever after . It still bugs me. Must have been image cache related but I never figured it out. Haunts me.

You also get next to no engagement with the mods or admin. Christ I don’t even know who the mods are anymore. I get that everyone has lives and TiBB isn’t a priority which is correct and rightly so but when there is no one genuinely wants to listen to anyone’s concerns.

It seems like most people agree there should be a rebrand and a forum index simplification. The subforums galore are just not attractive through the eyes of potential new members.

So I wonder what is gonna happen, because Mark (user #1) hasn't been on since 2018. The forum will either fade out of activity, servers will stop, or it will resurge with a potential return for BB. I think the rebrand and reorganisation would be a great last ditch effort to revitalise instead of seeing TiBB go out with a whimper, and if BB does return it would still be an appropriate place for it's discussion under a "This is Reality" brand.
