In the last few moments, Dominic Raab has resigned from his posts as justice secretary and deputy prime minister.
In his resignation letter, Raab says he feels "duty bound to accept the outcome of the inquiry" - but points out that the report by Adam Tolley KC "dismissed all but two of the claims levelled against me". We've not seen the report yet, we'll bring it to you when we have it. "I also believe that its two adverse findings are flawed and set a dangerous precedent for the conduct of good government," Raab writes. ------ No self awareness at all |

In a resignation statement posted on Twitter, Mr Raab said: "Whilst I feel duty
bound to accept the outcome of the inquiry, it dismissed all but two of the claims levelled against me. "I also believe that its two adverse findings are flawed and set a dangerous precedent for the conduct of good government." Mr Raab added: "In setting the threshold for bullying so low, this inquiry has set a dangerous precedent. It will encourage spurious complaints against ministers, and have a chilling effect on those driving change on behalf of your government - and ultimately the British people." |

What took him so long.
I note he says he doesn't believe he's bullied anyone. Near all bullies say just that. They call it fun or banter. Immaterial of how the ones on the receiving end feel. Good riddance to him. |

All hail the Moyesiah

I suspect he was a pretty bad boss but I have a bit of sympathy with the concerns over setting the bar for bullying very low, it will make people feel unable to criticise anyone in the workplace

i only came across one bully during my career, but he was a manager and he made peoples lives hell. You can voice your displeasure without bullying, it's easy.
Raab is exactly the type to be a bully, he was adamant that he wouldn't resign unless the report proved he was a bully. The report was done by a lawyer with no skin in the game. He is guilty If the tories win the next election, i bet he is back in the cabinet then Last edited by bots; 21-04-2023 at 09:15 AM. |

Isn't this the same tactic they tried using on Priti Patel?
Difference is that Boris was a strong leader who stood by his colleague and Sunak is a wet lettuce. |

Well Raab had a small kind of majority over the Lib Dems in his Esher and Walton seat. So it's no surprise the Lib Dems want an election. By-election or general election. Neither will happen. Raab isn't going to resign as an MP. He cannot be sacked as an MP. Really though, on this bullying issue of a man who Sunak only months ago, made JUSTICE secretary and made him deputy PM too. The judgement of Sunak is looking extremely poor indeed. Because other than this inquiry, Sunak has ended up doing next to nothing at all. He had the report around midday yesterday. He knew then the knowledge more than one case was found to be bullying. Yet he didn't act yesterday, nor by this morning, then all he's done is send a sort of glowing letter to Raab for his service. There's not been much from either as to the victims of the bullying of Raab who put their jobs and careers on the line by speaking out against it. Arrogant Sunak is coming across as shocking on this whole chaotic mess. |
