I’m the same…years of shift work had me getting up at silly hours and I love my sleep. I now hate an alarm going off forcing me out of bed…9 hours sleep every night is perfect for me…any less I feel cheated

i usually go to bed around 23:00 (unless Lets Dance is on, then i'll watch that until 23:30, or with new years eve, somewhere after midnight)

i get out of bed like 8:00 or sometimes when groceries come depends on how late in the morning sometimes 7:00 or 7:30

Once my head hits the pillow, I'm off The only time I struggled to get to sleep was when I was on an Early shift and had to be up at 3am...

But yeah it has recently been confirmed; there is no "some people get by fine on less". The damage is being done whether you feel it or not.

Obviously this is "over the long term" - some times in life it's unavoidable that you'll get less sleep. Illness, young kids etc. but it's not meant to be permanent.

And I say that without judgement as someone who rarely gets more than 6h sleep a night due to being a carer for a child with disabilities. I am well aware that one day I'll simply wake up and have a stroke or something .
You'd regularly have to be getting **** sleep for those health issues to appear I would imagine.

I hope anyway.

in a similar way to the way your body tells you that you need to eat, it tells you when you need to sleep, but you need to avoid environments that can stimulate and hide what the body really needs
