…I understand that she finds it difficult to understand Richard and to understand the respect/affection that he’s held in by some…but she’s showing a real spite and intolerance of that, that seems to be engrossing her…

On the other side of that, with no Caroline in there Richard would not even have been noticed this season.

She has defined him.

Without her creating this rivalry I am confident that we all would be happily calling him dead wood. He is really only supported for the most part because Carol is so dislikeable.

…yeah, without each other I think we would have seen different aspects to them both, I agree…and that was the thing for me with Farida as well, how she was in the wrong season, as it were……it’s impossible (..for me..) though to say, how would I have perceived either as a housemate, without the other because the reasons that I like Richard are actually apart and aside from his Caroline associations/partnership/feud/rivalry etc…but I do think…that Caroline has allowed herself to be consumed with Richard but that won’t take from the thing that she’s enjoying her time and experience and the friends/bonds that she’s made…and that’s no small thing…but I also think that Richard will have enjoyed his own experience living it his way and equally have made some great friends/bonds etc… Non, je ne regrette rien and all that jazz…

It's all so very performative and constructed.

The guy is very clever and has a particular type of devious mind (as needed to write mysteries and whodunits really)...

I am not sure why so many people watching are taking him at face value at all.
